You’ve always dreamed of a wedding in a garden or on the beach, and that’s exactly what you’re going to plan, no matter what!
Once we have a vision of our wedding, there’s no way we’re going to change our minds. We at West Florida DJ completely understand that. However, sometimes Mother Nature has other plans.
If your heart is set on an outdoor wedding, consider these options:
- Make sure you make your plans are for the non-rainy season. For example, if you plan your wedding for a summer month in Florida, it’s going to rain. Instead, think about a March wedding or a November wedding when the rain chance is significantly lower.
- Rent a tent. We realize that you may not want the extra expense, but the cost of a tent rental is much lower than the cost of a ruined wedding, and in addition to sheltering you from the rain, it will also help keep you guests out of the sun… especially the older guests who can’t handle hot weather any longer.
- Have a Plan B. Choose an outdoor location that has an indoor or covered option in the event of rain. Be careful when choosing the location with a Plan B, however. Some wedding venues, while they offer indoor alternatives, will book those alternatives to other guests, still leaving you wet and outdoors.
Bottom line, the more planning you do for alternate situations, the better time you and your guests will have on your wedding day! And finally… ENJOY! It’s your day!
